“Either the Bible is the Word of God, infallible and trustworthy, or it is merely a human word, and therefore fallible. You have to choose, but unlike many choices, it could have an eternal impact” – Viviane André, NGO Portes Ouvertes
The Bible, consisting of sixty-six books, was written by all kinds of authors – fifty-five in total – over a period of 1,500 years, without any contradiction between them. The Word of God is infallible; it is itself that declares it.
1 Peter 1:25 “25But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you”. KJV
The Bible is a unique revelation of the truth, which tells man where he comes from and where he is going, and has remained as it was written. Today, the Bible exists, in whole or in part, in more than 1,200 languages. No other book in the world has been translated into so many languages, nor read by so many people.
The Old Testament shows us God in search of the disobedient and sinful man who needs a Savior. The New Testament reveals a God who loved humanity so much that He came on earth in a human form, in the Person of Jesus Christ, to save people from their sin and offer them eternal life.
John 1:1-3 “1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made”. KJV
John 1:14 “14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth”. KJV
The Word of God cannot be reduced to a set of rules or even a doctrine, because these are not life-bearing.
All that is not written in the Bible – the Word «Logos» – will be revealed to us by the Holy Spirit, for the direction to follow on a daily basis. The Holy Spirit will then take hold of the Logos to give us a Word «Rhema», a word of faith that will install in us a firm hope.
The tradition of men is not evil, as long as it does not nullify the divine Word.
